To complete all repair and improvement work safely, efficiently and to client satisfaction.  To actively participate in ensuring any safeguarding or repair concerns are noted and reported.

Main Duties:

  • To be able to perform a range of repairs, maintenance and improvement works as required.

  • To be able to locate properties in various surrounding areas and effectively use a map and take directions.

  • To organise daily jobs effectively and independently, taking into consideration job priority and appointments made.

  • To assist colleagues in ensuring timely completion of jobs.

  • To document all orders and job sheets efficiently and produce accurate reports regarding works undertaken and properties visited.

  • To communicate effectively with internal office staff, colleagues, managers and customers.

  • To perform other duties as appropriate to the job level, including providing support to colleagues as directed by the manager.

  • To complete jobs in priority and completion date order.

  • To attend and participate in training and information sessions relating to health and safety and relevant processes.

  • To help us to achieve our aim of becoming the 'contractor of choice' by providing excellent service to our customers and working closely with our partners.

  • To ensure compliance with the Group’s health and safety policies.

  • To undertake relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD) applicable to their professional body and be prepared to undertake training as directed by the Group.

Skills & Competencies:

  • To carry out all aspects of plastering to a good standard.

  • To be proficient in at least one of the following

o   Joinery

o   Tiling and finishes

o   Plumbing

o   Groundworks

  • To be customer focused and to deliver excellent customer service.

  • To be able to work in an efficient manner, completing jobs and arranging materials to minimise non-productive time.

  • To work with other trades in delivery of more complex or multi discipline orders, being mindful of the effect one trades actions may have on another.

  • Must be methodical, accurate and have a keen eye for detail.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

  • High degree of initiative to complete jobs by target date.

  • Ability to query jobs and liaise with office staff and managers.

  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload.

  • Working to deadlines and agreed targets.

  • Full awareness of relevant H&S requirements and considerations.

  • Dealing with members of the public on a regular basis.

  • Excellent standards of communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Experience of working with Housing Associations and delivering repairs is desirable.
