Service Charges

If you live in one of our homes where you receive a service to any part of your building, for example, hallway cleaning, or communal garden maintenance, you will need to pay service charges. These are small charges that are charged on top of your rent that cover the costs of providing any services you receive.

Your lease or tenancy agreement will set out your service charge obligations - what you must pay for and whether the service charges are fixed or variable.

We consult on service charges each year, asking for your feedback on the quality of service and on cost, following the timeline shown opposite.

Service charge time table

The most common service charges are for landscaping, window cleaning and cleaning shared areas.
Below are some useful links to help you understand your service charges better for where you live:

  • The cleaning schedules show what services are provided and how frequently they should be completed for each block or scheme.

  • The communal window cleaning is scheduled monthly with exceptions shown below.

  • The landscaping schedule shows the tasks that are carried out and how often they should be completed. The Leasowe schedule is shown on the Leasowe Schedule and all other areas are shown on the Liverpool, Sefton and Wirral Schedule.
